JPG vs ICO: what changes

You want your website favicon or a Windows icon from a logo or photo in JPG. JPG has no transparency: the icon keeps the image background. If your logo has a background, remove it first or start from a PNG. For the full set (Apple, Android and manifest), use Favicon generator.

JPG to ICO: common questions

Does converting JPG to ICO lose quality?

JPG has no transparency: the icon keeps the image background. If your logo has a background, remove it first or start from a PNG. For the full set (Apple, Android and manifest), use Favicon generator.

How many files can I convert at once?

Up to 10 images at once. You choose the sizes inside the ICO (16 to 256 px).

Does it work on a phone?

Yes, in current mobile browsers (Chrome, Safari, Edge, Firefox). Large files take a little longer on a phone, and the tab should stay open until the download is ready.

Are my files uploaded to a server?

No. The conversion happens inside your browser: the file is read and processed on your device and is not sent to Cocuyo or to any third party. You can check it in your browser’s network tools: your file is not sent.

Is it really free?

Yes. You can try it before signing up; to download the result we ask for a free account, with no subscription. Your free account comes with 30 welcome uses; after that, each use costs 1 credit (top-ups from US$1), and they are unlimited with Basic or Pro. It never adds a watermark.
