JPG to Word (OCR): common questions
Does it keep the image layout?
No. It creates editable text with one paragraph per recognised paragraph; it does not reproduce columns, tables, fonts or the pictures in the photo.
Does it work with handwriting?
It works best with printed, straight, sharp text in good light. Handwriting and skewed photos are recognised less well.
Which languages does it read?
The same as Cocuyo’s Image to text (OCR) tool, with Spanish and English by default. Each language downloads only the first time you use it.
Are my images uploaded?
No. Recognition happens in this browser and the images never leave your device. A free account is required: it comes with 30 welcome uses, then each use costs 1 credit.
Are my documents uploaded to a server?
No. Files are read and converted in your browser. Cocuyo serves local engines; document content is never sent to a server. You can check it in your browser’s network tools: your file is not sent.
Is it really free?
Yes. You can try it before signing up; to download the result we ask for a free account, with no subscription. Your free account comes with 30 welcome uses; after that, each use costs 1 credit (top-ups from US$1), and they are unlimited with Basic or Pro. It never adds a watermark.
