Timer: common questions
Does it ring if I am in another tab?
Yes, as long as the tab stays open: the alarm is scheduled when you press “Start”. If the system suspends the browser or the phone, it may ring late or when you return to the page.
Why do I have to press a button for it to ring?
Browsers only allow sound after the person has interacted with the page. That is why sound is enabled when you start the timer or test it.
Can I close the page?
No. The timer runs inside this page: if you close or reload it, it stops. It does not send notifications either, so keep the tab open.
Is my data sent to a server?
No. The numbers, dates and names you type are calculated in your browser and are not sent to Cocuyo or to any third party.
Is it really free?
Yes. You can try it before signing up; to keep using it, we ask for a free account, with no subscription. It uses no credits and does not count toward your 30 welcome uses: it has no usage cap.
