Merge audio files: common questions
Can I mix formats?
Yes: you can join an MP3 with a WAV or M4A, as long as your browser can read them. Everything is converted to the same rate (44.1 kHz) and to stereo.
What is a crossfade?
The end of one file fades out while the start of the next fades in, for the seconds you choose, so the change is smooth.
Is there a limit?
Up to 20 files and 30 minutes in total, so it also works well on a phone.
Is my audio uploaded to a server?
No. The tool runs inside your browser: audio files are read and processed on your device and are not sent to Cocuyo or to any third party. The MP3 encoder is served from our own site. You can check it in your browser’s network tools: your file is not sent.
Is it really free?
Yes. You can try it before signing up; to download the result we ask for a free account, with no subscription. Your free account comes with 30 welcome uses; after that, each use costs 1 credit (top-ups from US$1), and they are unlimited with Basic or Pro. It never adds a watermark.
What are the limits?
Audio files up to 100 MB and 15 minutes that your browser can read. They are processed one at a time and the MP3 is made in the background so the tab stays responsive, even on a phone.
