Which formats can I open?
Whatever your browser can read: MP3, WAV, OGG and FLAC almost always; M4A/AAC in Chrome, Edge and Safari; and the audio of many videos. If one cannot be read, we tell you on that file.
Why is OGG or M4A not listed?
We only show formats your browser can really create. MP3 and WAV always work; OGG (Opus) and M4A (AAC) depend on the browser and the system.
Which quality should I choose?
192 kbps is a good MP3 setting for music; 128 kbps is enough for speech. WAV is uncompressed and much larger.
Is my audio uploaded to a server?
No. The tool runs inside your browser: audio files are read and processed on your device and are not sent to Cocuyo or to any third party. The MP3 encoder is served from our own site. You can check it in your browser’s network tools: your file is not sent.
Is it really free?
Yes. You can try it before signing up; to download the result we ask for a free account, with no subscription. Your free account comes with 30 welcome uses; after that, each use costs 1 credit (top-ups from US$1), and they are unlimited with Basic or Pro. It never adds a watermark.
What are the limits?
Audio files up to 100 MB and 15 minutes that your browser can read. They are processed one at a time and the MP3 is made in the background so the tab stays responsive, even on a phone.
