Emoji and symbols: common questions
Is this the complete Unicode list?
No. It is a selection of the most used emoji and symbols, with hand-written search words. Unicode has tens of thousands of characters; if you cannot find one, it may not be on this list.
Why do some symbols look different or show as a box?
Each system draws emoji its own way, and some rare symbols are not in every font. On Windows, flags show as two letters.
What are kaomoji?
Japanese emoticons made from text characters, such as ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. They copy like an emoji and show in almost any app because they do not depend on images.
Which languages can I search in?
English and Spanish. Every symbol has words in both languages, and search ignores accents and capitals: “corazon” finds the same as “corazón” or “heart”.
Is my text sent to a server?
No. Everything is calculated in your browser as you type; the text is not sent to Cocuyo or any third party and is not stored. You can check it in your browser’s network tools: your file is not sent.
Is it really free?
Yes. You can try it before signing up; to keep using it, we ask for a free account, with no subscription. It uses no credits and does not count toward your 30 welcome uses: it has no usage cap.
