FORMATS

PNG vs JPG: what changes

Your PNG is too heavy to send, or a website or form only accepts JPG. JPG does not store transparency: transparent areas are filled with the colour you pick (white by default). For logos and screenshots with text, PNG usually looks cleaner.

PNG to JPG: common questions

Does converting PNG to JPG lose quality?

JPG does not store transparency: transparent areas are filled with the colour you pick (white by default). For logos and screenshots with text, PNG usually looks cleaner.

How many files can I convert at once?

Up to 10 still JPG, PNG, WebP or AVIF images at once, up to 30 MB and 40 megapixels each, with single or ZIP download. AVIF requires a compatible browser.

Does it work on a phone?

Yes, in current mobile browsers (Chrome, Safari, Edge, Firefox). Large files take a little longer on a phone, and the tab should stay open until the download is ready.

Are my files uploaded to a server?

No. The conversion happens inside your browser: the file is read and processed on your device and is not sent to Cocuyo or to any third party. You can check it in your browser’s network tools: your file is not sent.

Is it really free?

Yes. You can try it before signing up; to download the result we ask for a free account, with no subscription. Your free account comes with 30 welcome uses; after that, each use costs 1 credit (top-ups from US$1), and they are unlimited with Basic or Pro. It never adds a watermark.
