Why the download is a PNG
JPG cannot store transparency
The circle is always exported as a PNG. Converting it to JPG later will remove the transparent corners.
Resolution depends on your photo
The crop preserves the pixels in the selected area. A small photo does not gain detail when cropped.

How do I make my photo round?
Add your photo, adjust the circle and press “Crop image”. Download the resulting PNG.
Why is the file still square?
Image files have a rectangular width and height. Pixels outside the circle are transparent, so it looks round when placed on a background.
Is my photo uploaded?
No. The crop is processed in your browser.
Can I switch back to a rectangular crop?
Yes. Change “Shape” to “Rectangle” inside the tool.
Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. Everything happens inside your browser: the file is read and processed on your device and is not sent to Cocuyo or to any third party. You can check it in your browser’s network tools: your file is not sent.
Is it really free?
