Text on a photo: common questions

Can I make memes?

Yes. Top and bottom text with an outline is the classic meme style.

Does the photo lose quality?

It downloads at the same size as the original.

Which fonts are there?

Your device’s system fonts, so nothing is downloaded. For decorative lettering, use the Text effects App.

Is it free?

Yes. The free tools in this guide run in your browser and add no watermark. Tools that create files come with 30 welcome uses on a free account, then cost 1 credit per use; tools that show the result on screen have no usage cap. You can try them before signing up; to download the result or keep using them we ask for a free account, with no subscription. The AI Apps it mentions do use credits to generate, and Free includes no credits.
