X (Twitter) image size: common questions
What size should a X (Twitter) profile header be?
1500 × 500 pixels, a 3:1 aspect ratio. On the header, the profile photo covers part of the bottom-left corner, and phones crop the top and bottom: keep text in the centre.
What happens if I upload another size?
X (Twitter) scales or crops it to its own format, and it may cut off edges or add bars. Adapting it first lets you decide what stays: crop the edges or fit the whole image on a background colour.
Are these sizes up to date?
We reviewed them in September 2026 against the usual recommendations. We could not open X (Twitter)’s official help centre from our automated review, so confirm it there (link below the table) before an important campaign: networks change their sizes without notice.
Does resizing lose quality?
Making an image smaller keeps it sharp. Making it bigger does not add detail: start from the largest original you have. You can keep the format or save as JPG, PNG or WebP.
Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. The conversion happens inside your browser: the file is read and processed on your device and is not sent to Cocuyo or to any third party. You can check it in your browser’s network tools: your file is not sent.
Is it really free?
Yes. You can try it before signing up; to download the result we ask for a free account, with no subscription. Your free account comes with 30 welcome uses; after that, each use costs 1 credit (top-ups from US$1), and they are unlimited with Basic or Pro. It never adds a watermark.
