HOW TO PLAY

Three steps.

  1. Choose a mode

    Easy (the computer plays at random half the time), Normal (it takes a win when it sees one but sometimes slips), Impossible (it never loses) or 2 players on the same device.

  2. Place your mark

    Tap a free cell or press 1 to 9 on your keyboard. Games alternate who starts.

  3. Get three in a row

    Whoever lines up three marks wins: across, down or diagonally.

Tic-tac-toe: common questions

Can I beat the computer on Impossible?

No: it plays perfectly, so the best you can get is a draw. On Easy and Normal you can win.

Is it the same as noughts and crosses?

Yes, it is the same game with a different name.

Is the score saved?

Yes, on this device, one per mode. Reset score starts the count again.
