Every Sudoku is created on the spot and has exactly one solution. Pick a level or the daily Sudoku, pencil in candidates with Notes, ask for up to three hints per game, and carry on another day: it is saved on your device.
HOW TO PLAY
Three steps.
Pick a cell
Tap an empty cell. Its row, column and 3×3 box light up, along with matching numbers.
Enter a number
Use the on-screen keypad, which shows how many of each number are left, or your keyboard. Every row, column and box must have 1 to 9 with no repeats.
Note and fix
With Notes you write small candidates, which clear themselves when you place that number nearby. A repeated or wrong number turns red, and Undo takes you back.
Sudoku: common questions
How many clues does each level have?
Easy starts with about 40 numbers showing, medium with about 32 and hard with about 26. Fewer numbers means more reasoning. On top of that, the Hint button fills in a correct cell up to three times per game.
What is the daily Sudoku?
A board that is the same for everyone that day (it changes at midnight UTC). It has its own best time and, once you finish it, shows your time for today.
Does every puzzle have a unique solution?
Yes. The board is generated in your browser and, as each number is removed, it checks that there is still only one solution.
Is my game saved?
Yes, on this device: if you close the page, you carry on where you left off. Nothing is sent to any server.
