Change pitch and tempo: common questions
Does the speed change when I change the pitch?
No. Pitch and tempo are independent: raising 2 semitones keeps the length, and slowing the tempo to 80% keeps the note.
How do I go from A440 to A432?
Leave the semitones at 0 and set the fine tuning to −32 cents: from 440 to 432 Hz is about 31.8 cents.
Why does the voice sound odd with large changes?
This method also shifts the timbre of the voice (the formants). With 1 to 3 semitones it sounds natural; with an octave the effect is noticeable.
Is my audio uploaded to a server?
No. The tool runs inside your browser: audio files are read and processed on your device and are not sent to Cocuyo or to any third party. The MP3 encoder is served from our own site. You can check it in your browser’s network tools: your file is not sent.
Is it really free?
