Synthesized sounds: common questions
Can it generate any sound from a description?
No. There are six presets made with oscillators and noise. It uses no AI, voices or recordings; rain is a synthetic approximation.
What does variation change?
It changes the noise in presets that use it. The same settings and variation produce the same sound; the pure beep does not change.
What are the limits?
One mono 16-bit 44.1 kHz WAV, 0.1 to 15 seconds long. Maximum volume leaves headroom before clipping.
Is the sound sent to or stored on a server?
No. The sound is calculated in your browser and is not sent to or stored on any server. You can check it by going offline after the page has loaded.
Is it really free?
Yes. You can try it before signing up; to download the result we ask for a free account, with no subscription. Your free account comes with 30 welcome uses; after that, each use costs 1 credit (top-ups from US$1), and they are unlimited with Basic or Pro. It never adds a watermark.
