Screen recorder: common questions
Does it record the microphone?
No. It requests the screen and, optionally, tab or system audio. That track depends on the source and browser.
Does it work on every phone?
Capture depends on getDisplayMedia and MediaRecorder. Use a compatible desktop browser; the tool reports when capture is unavailable.
What are the limits?
Five minutes, 100 MiB and up to 3840 × 2160 pixels. Exceeding size or a delayed stop discards the take. Your session is checked during capture.
Is the download always MP4?
No. MediaRecorder may provide WebM or MP4 depending on the browser. Downloads preserve the actual container; no video conversion is performed.
Are my videos uploaded to a server?
No. The tool runs inside your browser: videos are read and processed on your device and are not sent to Cocuyo or to any third party. The libraries are served from our own site, with no external services. You can check it in your browser’s network tools: your file is not sent.
Is it really free?
Yes. You can try it before signing up; to download the result we ask for a free account, with no subscription. Your free account comes with 30 welcome uses; after that, each use costs 1 credit (top-ups from US$1), and they are unlimited with Basic or Pro. It never adds a watermark.
