Pregnancy calculator: common questions
How is the due date worked out?
With Naegele’s rule: the first day of the last period plus 280 days (40 weeks). If your cycle is longer or shorter than 28 days, the date shifts by the difference. From conception, 266 days are added.
Is it exact?
No. It is an estimate: few babies are born on that very day, and birth between weeks 37 and 42 is usual. A first-trimester ultrasound usually dates the pregnancy more precisely.
Does it replace a medical visit?
No. It is for guidance. Your healthcare professional will confirm the weeks and the due date and tell you which checkups to have.
Is my data sent to a server?
No. The numbers, dates and names you type are calculated in your browser and are not sent to Cocuyo or to any third party.
Is it really free?
Yes. You can try it before signing up; to keep using it, we ask for a free account, with no subscription. It uses no credits and does not count toward your 30 welcome uses: it has no usage cap.
