HOW TO USE IT

Three steps.

  1. Enter your subtitles

    Paste subtitles or choose an SRT, VTT, SBV, ASS or SSA file in UTF-8. Up to 2 MiB and 20,000 cues.

  2. Choose the output

    Select SRT, VTT, SBV, ASS or SSA and, if needed, an offset in seconds. Timing is validated; VTT requires cues ordered by start time.

  3. Review warnings

    Download the chosen format and review styles, positioning and identifiers. Multiline text is kept and line endings normalize to LF.

Convert subtitles (SRT, VTT, SBV, ASS): common questions

Are sentences truncated or times changed?

Sentences are not limited to 120 characters and cues are not split into words. Millisecond timing and original order remain; invalid inputs are rejected.

What can be lost in conversion?

NOTE, STYLE, REGION and extra headers are omitted with a warning. SRT cannot preserve VTT positioning settings; its identifiers are renumbered. Tags remain as text, but styling may not be equivalent.

Does it transcribe a video or need a model?

No. It only processes existing SRT/VTT, without a model or Whisper download. Use automatic subtitles to generate subtitles from audio or video.

What happens to ASS and SSA styles?

From ASS and SSA only the text and timing are taken: styles, positions and effects are removed, and exporting to ASS or SSA writes a basic style.

Are my videos uploaded to a server?

No. The tool runs inside your browser: videos are read and processed on your device and are not sent to Cocuyo or to any third party. The libraries are served from our own site, with no external services. You can check it in your browser’s network tools: your file is not sent.

Is it really free?

Yes. You can try it before signing up; to keep using it, we ask for a free account, with no subscription. It uses no credits and does not count toward your 30 welcome uses: it has no usage cap.
