XML sitemap generator: common questions
What are sitemap limits?
The protocol supports up to 50,000 URLs and 50 MiB uncompressed. This tool applies a smaller limit of 10,000 URLs and 2 MiB input.
Can it include several domains or fragments?
This version requires one origin, including protocol and port. Credentials, fragments, spaces and URLs of 2,048 characters or more are rejected.
Is a sitemap enough to appear in Google?
No. A sitemap communicates URLs; it does not prove crawling, indexing or ranking. No search account is accessed and the file is never automatically submitted.
Is my text sent to a server?
No. Everything is calculated in your browser as you type; the text is not sent to Cocuyo or any third party and is not stored. You can check it in your browser’s network tools: your file is not sent.
Is it really free?
Yes. You can try it before signing up; to keep using it, we ask for a free account, with no subscription. It uses no credits and does not count toward your 30 welcome uses: it has no usage cap.
