Time zone converter: common questions
Does it handle daylight saving time?
Yes. Your browser applies each zone’s rules for that date, including clock changes. If a time does not exist or happens twice that day, the tool tells you.
Why can’t I find my city?
Each time zone is named after a main city. Search for the big city in your zone or for the zone name, for example America/Chicago.
What is UTC?
Coordinated Universal Time, the world’s reference for time. Each zone is expressed as an offset from UTC, for example UTC-05:00.
Is my data sent to a server?
No. The numbers, dates and names you type are calculated in your browser and are not sent to Cocuyo or to any third party.
Is it really free?
Yes. You can try it before signing up; to keep using it, we ask for a free account, with no subscription. It uses no credits and does not count toward your 30 welcome uses: it has no usage cap.
