TXT to PDF: common questions
Can the PDF text be copied and searched?
Yes. The PDF contains real text with the embedded Noto Sans font (Latin, Cyrillic and Greek scripts), not an image of the page.
What about emoji, Chinese or Arabic?
The included font does not draw them: each one appears as a replacement symbol and the tool tells you how many there were. The rest of the text is kept.
How is the encoding detected?
It uses the BOM if present (UTF-8 or UTF-16). Otherwise it tries UTF-8 and, if that is not valid, reads the file as Windows-1252, used by older Notepad versions, and says so so you can check accents.
Are my files uploaded?
No. The engine and font download from Cocuyo and the file is processed on your device. A free account is required: it comes with 30 welcome uses, then each use costs 1 credit.
Are my documents uploaded to a server?
No. Files are read and converted in your browser. Cocuyo serves local engines; document content is never sent to a server. You can check it in your browser’s network tools: your file is not sent.
Is it really free?
Yes. You can try it before signing up; to download the result we ask for a free account, with no subscription. Your free account comes with 30 welcome uses; after that, each use costs 1 credit (top-ups from US$1), and they are unlimited with Basic or Pro. It never adds a watermark.
